Problem: adding categories creates main menu mess 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello Johann-

Thank you for developing this tool -- it is amazing that it is not already part of the core, b/c Joomla requires so many repetitive steps to do simple things vs. other systems. Anything that eases this overload should be embraced immediately by the J! gods!

I am hoping to save much time creating a ~1,000 page site, with ~150 Categories spread under 10 Sections. -- on the order of tens of thousands of mind-numbing clicks overall?

Problem is, when I create Categories within existing Sections, I cannot get menu items to populate under the section. If I click add to menu, I get a total mess, all at the top level main menu. I want to set categories to Level 2, displaying in a cascade on mouseover of the L1 parent. Should be relatively simple, no?

The thought of 1-by-1 editing of articles after mass-creation, then menu manager, etc., times 1000 makes me want to puke.

Am I 1) doing something wrong, and it really is simple, or,

2) is there a low-click workaround, such as setting the mass-created categories into a temporary custom menu, then moving them to Main? Or can you (or anyone else readding this) think of anything else?

I am using J1.5 with YOOtools Ambient template.

Thank you again for all of your great efforts for the community!

Rick

Hi,

This seems familiar to: http://www.baticore.com/index.php/Feature-requests/30-request-adding-content-into-submenus.html

I will look into it for the next release.

Please be patient
